Athletics

HSMSE offers a variety of varsity sports that participate in the Public School Athletic League (PSAL). The following sports are offered to students: girls and boys soccer, girls and boys indoor track, outdoor track and cross country, girls and boys basketball, boys baseball, girls softball and volleyball.
Students participating in a team club or sport are asked to contribute at least $20 per sport per student each year. This fee helps the PTA fund budgetary expenses such as team uniforms, sports equipment, and registration fees.

Individual coaches may solicit contributions on behalf of their teams throughout the season to cover unmet expenses. The combination of participation fees and contributions by families who can give more towards a team sport enables all students to have equal access to participate in HSMSE team sports. We want our athletes to have the opportunity to train competitively and to demonstrate school pride when representing HSMSE.

All students participating in a team sport must have a PSAL physical dated within one year of tryout date and a parent consent form. You may not try-out for any athletic team unless you have your physical completed and both forms handed in.
