Like most public schools in recent years, HSMSE has seen a decline in city and DOE funding. Your generous contributions go a long way in filling these budget gaps. We urge all families to donate to their capacity to the Annual Family Giving Campaign. Our 2023-2024 fundraising goal is $258,500 and the suggested donation amount is $1000 per student. Every dollar is greatly appreciated and makes a huge difference.

Please take the time to sit down with your family and decide on a meaningful contribution. We encourage all families to give to the PTA General Fund but other restricted options are available to families who choose to donate in this manner.

Please make your check payable to PTA of HSMSE. Your donation will be directed to the PTA General Fund unless you specify otherwise on the memo line. Include your name, address, phone number and email address along with your gift and send to:

All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. If you would like to direct your donation to a specific area of the school or program, please email [email protected] with your intent after your transaction is complete. Otherwise, your generous donation will be directed to the PTA General Fund.

HSMSE will faithfully apply targeted donations to specific designated expenditures or programs in the fiscal year in which they are received. Targeted donations that remain unused at the end of HSMSE’s fiscal year (ending on June 30) may be used in subsequent years for any approved program of the PTA. Donations will be recorded and reported as “restricted funds” if a donor’s aggregate donations during the fiscal year exceeds $5,000.

JOIN THE FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE

The PTA plans, organizes, and runs community events to bring HSMSE families together and to raise funds for all our programs. Occasionally, we fundraise for a specific event or activity. Thanks to prior year contributions, our school is able to support and expand student enrichment programs; clubs and sports; faculty professional development; community & bonding events; as well as purchase equipment, furniture and supplies for our classrooms.
